2nd field trial has started
4 August 2014

Development and testing of the second prototype has completed and the field study has just started. During the next 8 weeks 25 users in Vienna and 25 users in Dublin will use the PEACOX route planner prototype and the PEACOX navigation app Dynavix. They will also be provided with a Trip Diary app to review and annotate the automatically detected trip modes and trip purposes. We will gather feedback on the user experience and technology acceptance through online questionnaires, interviews and group discussions.

2nd field trial will start soon

As the development of the second prototype is progressing well, we are already in the middle of preparing the second field trial starting in July. To gather user feedback 25 users in Vienna and 25 users in Dublin will use the PEACOX prototype for 8 weeks.

Development of the 2nd PEACOX prototype started
11 April 2014

The PEACOX prototype is currently further developed. Adjustments will be made according to the users’ feedback in the first field trial and additional functionalities will be implemented. The second prototype will be evaluated in the second field trial in Vienna and Dublin during summer.

 

Successful completion of 2nd PEACOX review
16 January 2014

The second year of PEACOX was officially completed on 30 September and the second project review was held in Vienna on 27 November. The Commission noted that, during the second year, PEACOX has demonstrated very good progress and fully achieved its objectives and technical goals for the period with only minor deviations.

 

2nd PEACOX Advisory Board Meeting
14 October 2013

On 11 October 2013 the 2nd PEACOX Advisory Board meeting took place in Vienna. The PEACOX project, in particular the first prototype and the results of the first field trial, were presented to three experts in the fields of persuasion and transportation from different European countries. The advisory board gave valuable feedback on open questions and the future direction of PEACOX.

 

Results of the 1st PEACOX field trial now available
30 September 2013

The results of the 1st PEACOX field trial have been analysed and compiled in Deliverable 7.4 Field Trials I Report. Overall, the trial was positive and insightful. Users liked the prototype and the quality of route recommendations. We observed increased environmental impact awareness and some behavioral changes that are discussed in detail in the downloadable deliverable.

 

1st PEACOX field trial successfully completed - PEACOX reaches 2nd Milestone
12 August 2013

The last workshops of the 1st PEACOX field trial have taken place last week. Analysis of focus group and interview protocols, online survey records and the logged data of the smartphones will start now. With the completion of the field trial, project PEACOX has reached its second milestone.

 

1st PEACOX field trial in Vienna has started
18 June 2013

The 1st PEACOX field trial has started today. 25 users will evaluate the prototype in the upcoming 8 weeks. We will collect their opinions through workshops, online questionnaires, interviews, and records of application use and mobility behaviour. Furthermore, 81 additional users showed interest in using the appellation and received an invitation to test it.

 

PEACOX prototype development completed
21 May 2013

Development on the 1st PEACOX prototype development has finished. The system is now undergoing technical tests to be ready for the first evaluation in mid June.

 

1st PEACOX review rated with excellence
22 January 2013

The 1st Periodic Review was held in Brussels on 30 November 2012.The European Commission noted that during its first year the PEACOX Project has demostrated excellent progress, fully achieving its objectives and technical goals for the period.

 

Follow-Up Activies of Workshop with Related Projects
5 November 2012

On 24 October 2012, CURE hosted a workshop for an exchange of knowledge with experts, interested scientists and researchers who work in related projects funded by EU FP7 ICT 2011: 6.6 (Low carbon multi-modal mobility and freight transport). As the exchange of ideas, approaches, and experiences was a very fruitful one, we are hosting the project presentions and information on the participants on this website. In addition the participants agreed to further pursue the idea of a common book publication. Please find all relevant information about the workshop here.

 

PEACOX Advisory Board
29 October 2012

On 25 October 2012 the 1st PEACOX Advisory Board meeting took place in Vienna. The PEACOX project was presented to five experts from different fields and countries. The professionals were invited to pose questions, give feedback and to discuss about the PEACOX project. The cooperation was very fruitful and led to lucrative inputs for the future work on the PEACOX project.

 

PEACOX at the ITS World Congress in Vienna – „Smarter on the way“
15 October 2012

The ITS World Congress will take place from 22nd to 26th of October 2012 in Vienna and focuses on the benefits of information transport solutions for several modes of transportation by connecting customers and encouraging sustainability. The PEACOX partner TIS Vienna Region is highly involved in the presentation-, exhibition- and demonstration programme. Information about PEACOX and the hot off the press project folder will be available at Fluidtime’s booth.

 

Workshop "User- and eco-friendly travelling solutions"
9 October 2012

CURE is organising a workshop for an exchange of knowledge with experts, interested scientists and researchers who work in related projects funded by EU FP7 ICT 2011: 6.6 (Low carbon multi-modal mobility and freight transport).

New: PEACOX Project Folder
15 September 2012

PEACOX has a new folder! The folder informs about the PEACOX consortium, the goals of the project, about problems of C02 emissions and the environment in general and expected results of the project. User stories are included which illustrate how the PEACOX app can help to travel eco friendly in real life. The folder will be distributed at public and scientific events and is also available for download.

 

Study Conducted on Presentation of CO2 Emissions on Smartphones
10 August 2012

PEACOX partners Trinity College Dublin and ETH Zurich conducted a study on Presentation of Carbon Dioxide Emissions Information for Smartphone Applications. The aim was to examine how carbon emissions information could be integrated into a smartphone-application. Four different methods of presenting trip information were examined, and an online-questionnaire was conducted. Further information you can find in the 2nd Newsletter.

Delivery of Persuasive Strategies Report
1 August 2012

PEACOX Reaches First Milestone!
4 July 2012

By the end of June 2012 PEACOX has reached the first Milestone M1 Requirements Definition Finished. The work is documented in the following deliverables: D2.1 Description of User Groups and Travelling Contexts, D2.2 Requirements Document, D2.3 Stakeholder and Technical Requirements and D5.1 Persuasive Strategies Report. These Deliverables build an important basis for the further developments. The public deliverables can be downloaded in the results section.

 

Completion of Requirements Analysis
3 July 2012

User, stakeholder and technological requirements have been collected several different research methods: literature review, questionnaire study, a user experience night and an online-questionnaire study have been carried out. Results can be found in D2.2 Requirements Document and D2.3 Stakeholder and Technical Requirements.

 

Completion of User Groups and Context Analysis
2 May 2012

User groups and travelling contexts have been collected in a comprehensive literature review and a questionnaire study. It concluded in a detailed description of existing user groups and travel mode choice concepts. Based on the literature review we collected relevant variables related to user groups, travel contexts/ situations and travel mode choice.

 

PEACOX Successfully Kicked Off
28 November 2011

From 24 to 25 November 2012 the PEACOX Kick-off meeting took place in Vienna. Besides introductory presentations of the project and all partners, each work package leader presented their respective work packages. Furthermore we had first technical discussions about choice of hardware and mapping data.
