Project Results
Status as of November 2013
PEACOX has completed its second project year. The following paragraphs detail what results have been achieved so far. A list of list of publicly available deliverables a project information flyer with a an ovierview about the project, its goals and its approach is also available for download.
The main objectives of the past months were to finalise the user interface design concepts, to implement a functioning prototype that integrates the modules developed by the different partners and to evaluate the developed concepts, algorithms and prototypes both, in on-going evaluation activities as well as in extensive field trials.
Based on the results of the requirements work and the exploration of persuasive strategies during the first project year the project partners worked jointly on designing and specifying the user interface for the project's first prototype. Please find screenshots of the prototype below:
In parallel a technical architecture and infrastructure was specified, that allows integrating the single components of the different partners to work together (especially developed in WP3 and WP4), and that also connects to required third-party services (e.g. weather information, etc.). As a result of this process now a technical infrastructure is available that provides the required interfaces for an efficient and flexible integration of the different technical components. It is expected that this infrastructure only requires minor modifications to be used in the second development iteration, which is scheduled for project year 3.
Based on this infrastructure a fully functional prototype using the Android operating system was implemented and has been thoroughly tested, both with regard to functionality as well as usability and acceptance.
A major focus of the second project year was the organization and conduction of field trials, in which the integrated prototype was evaluated by 25 users in real life conditions over the period of two months. The results of this trial were analysed and provide valuable input for the second design iteration.
Besides the main development work the project consortium continued to disseminate the project results by organising events and participating in conferences and workshops.
